Modern day distractions: cell phones, medications, sickness, obesity

Chapter 2: The Art of Deception

Art of Deception, what does that mean?

Veracity of Jesus: men do not die for a lie!

HOMEWORK: Do some research on Joel Osteen, Benny Hinn, Joyce Meyer, Sarah Young. Are they false teachers? Do they teach true biblical theology?

Galatians 1:8-9 (ESV) “But even if we or an angel from heaven should preach to you a gospel contrary to the one we preached to you, let him be accursed. As we have said before, so now I say again: If anyone is preaching to you a gospel contrary to the one you received, let him be accursed.”

James 3:1 (ESV) “Not many of you should become teachers, my brothers, for you know that we who teach will be judged with greater strictness.”

How does your own church compare to what the Bible says about how we should gather? Did Jesus make his messages easy or hard? Is your church a feel good church with an overproduced show? Is that a bad thing?

The most important thing is to glorify God. Not man, not the band, not each other, and definitely not yourself.
