Colossians 1:13

Read all of Colossians, the entire short book, everyday before you dissect the daily verse or passage. Today’s passage is Colossians 1:13

Colossians 1:13 ESV

He has delivered us from the domain of darkness and transferred us to the kingdom of his beloved Son,

PAST: answer what this verse meant to the original recipients in the PAST.
Paul is reminding the Colossians from where they came. They were sinners in darkness and under the evil domain, but are now have been moved from there to light to Jesus! Again, this verse would have gotten the readers very excited I am sure!

EVERYONE: re-write the verse in your own words to reflect the universal truth that applies to EVERYONE.
God has taken us out from under Satan’s influence and given us over to Jesus and His kingdom.

PRESENT: what does this verse mean to you and how should you apply it today in the PRESENT.
I am a daughter of the King! My true home is a kingdom of light! No longer am I a slave to the domain of darkness. I must walk in the light and remember Who I have been transferred to!
