CHAPTER 16: How to Read the Bible
1. Have you ever read the entire Bible, cover to cover? It is okay if you haven’t, be honest. If you have, guess how many times?
2. What accountability steps have you set up, or will you set up, to remember to read the Bible every day?
3. What time of day can you set aside to spend in God’s word and how many minutes can you dedicate to it?
CHAPTER 17: Bible Study

5. How do you feel about commentaries and popular Bible studies? Are they helpful or hurtful? Why?
6. Describe the two general types of Bible study as discussed in the book that are opposed to one another?
7. Go to the book of James and use the CUP method to study each individual verse for verses 1 through 12 or, if you are able to, try the entirety of chapter 1. Use additional paper if needed.
The CUP method is a way to check the Context of the verse, determine what the Universal truth is, and finally apply that truth to your own Personal life.
CHAPTER 18: Prayer
Consider using the Undomesticating God Prayer Journal.
8. Is prayer easy or hard for you? Why?
9. Describe a time in your life when you heard the still small voice of God.

11. What are some ways to keep from quenching the Holy Spirit?

13. What are some ways to help you insert prayer throughout your daily routine?
14. List one to two specific times in your day that you would like to set aside for dedicated prayer time.
15. Do you feel your prayers align with God’s will?
Why or why not?
16. The author spoke about several potentially controversial areas that man has added to prayer as a sort of superstition such as the Doxology, and always adding “In Jesus’ Name” before saying Amen. Do you agree or disagree with her statements? Why?
17. Do you always pray before a meal? Is this a Biblical mandate or a human tradition?
18. Paul tells us that he asked God three times to heal his ailment in 2 Corinthians 12:8, “Three times I pleaded with the Lord about this, that it should leave me.” Do you feel it is Biblical to continually ask for physical healing in your life? Use Biblical references in context. Are the references to healing regarding physical healing or spiritual healing? Please share your thoughts on prayer requests surrounding physical healing in the Church. (Note: there is no right answer to this, it is just to get you thinking about motive and who God is.)
