“Friendship is unnecessary, like philosophy, like art…. It has no survival value; rather it is one of those things which give value to survival.”

Monday Modern Parable ~ The Little Cottage
“Imagine yourself as a living house. God comes in to rebuild that house. At first, perhaps, you can understand what He is doing. He is getting the drains right and stopping the leaks in the roof and so on; you knew that those jobs needed doing and so you are not surprised. But presently He starts knocking the house about in a way that hurts abominably and does not seem to make any sense. What on earth is He up to? The explanation is that He is building quite a different house from the one you thought of – throwing out a new wing here, putting on an extra floor there, running up towers, making courtyards. You thought you were being made into a decent little cottage: but He is building a palace. He intends to come and live in it Himself.”
― C.S. Lewis, Mere Christianity
Blessing God ~ Flourish
We are so rich! Think about it. What could you do with two dollars? I have at least two dollars in change in the bottom of my purse. I have two dollars that my son ripped in half when he was a baby that I don’t quite know what to do with. How interesting it is that something as simple as two dollars for us here in America is what more than half the world lives off of a day. We are rich! Did you know that the average person living in Southern California lives off of $117 a day. Do the math. If you make over $3,500 a month you are living an above average lifestyle. If you want more on this topic, check out Francis Chan’s Sermon on this very topic.
“Flourish”
Whoever trusts in his riches will fall,
but the righteous will flourish like a green leaf.

Blessing God ~ Rocks Cry Out
How do you live your life in light of what God has given you? Are you one of those quite humble types when it comes to the name of Jesus? Do you feel that you are a great prayer warrior who loves others but allows them the right to their own opinion? You are really saying, I love you, but not quite enough to tell you about Jesus. Don’t be a lukewarm believer in Christ. For that quite form of “Christianity” Jesus has said he will literally puke out of his mouth. I don’t know about you, but that doesn’t sound good at all. Don’t be silent!
As he was drawing near — already on the way down the Mount of Olives — the whole multitude of his disciples began to rejoice and praise God with a loud voice for all the mighty works that they had seen, saying, “Blessed is the King who comes in the name of the Lord! Peace in heaven and glory in the highest!” And some of the Pharisees in the crowd said to him, “Teacher, rebuke your disciples.” He answered, “I tell you, if these were silent, the very stones would cry out.”

Quote of the Day ~ A.W. Tozer
“O God, I have tasted Thy goodness, and it has both satisfied me and made me thirsty for more. I am painfully conscious of my need for further grace. I am ashamed of my lack of desire. O God, the Triune God, I want to want Thee; I long to be filled with longing; I thirst to be made more thirsty still. Show me Thy glory, I pray Thee, so that I may know Thee indeed. Begin in mercy a new work of love within me. Say to my soul, ‘Rise up my love, my fair one, and come away.’ Then give me grace to rise and follow Thee up from this misty lowland where I have wandered so long.”
